The Bad News
Nintendo confirmed that Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has no online Mii sharing. No QR codes, no SpotPass, no internet-based Mii exchange. The only official method is local wireless between two Switch 2 consoles in the same room โ and even then, received Miis can't be re-shared.
This is a significant step back from the 3DS original, which had robust QR code sharing.
Working Workarounds in 2026
Method 1 โ Use Our Mii Gallery (Recommended)
Browse our [Mii Gallery](/mii) which includes slider parameter tables for every Mii. Since you can't scan a QR code, you recreate the Mii manually using the exact slider values we provide.
Each Mii page shows:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Face Shape | Round |
| Eye Type | #12 |
| Eye Size | -1 |
| Eyebrow Type | #8 |
| ... | ... |
This takes about 3-5 minutes per Mii but gives you perfect results.
Method 2 โ The Miitopia Trick
If you have Miitopia on Switch, you can use it as a Mii transfer bridge:
- In Miitopia, create or import the Mii you want
- Save it to your **Nintendo Switch system Mii database**
- In Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, when creating a new islander, select **"Use a Mii from your system"**
- Your Miitopia Mii will appear in the list
This works because Living the Dream can read from the system Mii database, even though it can't import QR codes directly.
Method 3 โ Save File Injection (PC Emulator Only)
If you're playing on Ryujinx, you can use our [Save Editor](/save-editor) to inject Mii data directly into your save file:
- Download a Mii's binary data from our gallery
- Open the Save Editor and load your `savedataArc.txt`
- Use the Mii Injector to place the Mii into an empty island slot
- Save and reload in Ryujinx
This is the most powerful method โ it bypasses all Nintendo restrictions entirely.
Method 4 โ Local Wireless (Official)
If you have a friend with Switch 2 nearby:
- Both players open Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
- Go to **Town Hall โ Mii Exchange**
- Select **Local Wireless**
- You can send/receive up to 10 Miis per session
Note: received Miis are marked as "received" and cannot be re-shared to other players.
Why Did Nintendo Do This?
Nintendo's stated reason is content moderation โ preventing inappropriate Miis from spreading online. The 3DS QR system had no moderation layer. Whether this tradeoff was worth it is... debatable.
The community has largely moved to third-party tools like this site to fill the gap.
